Lakeland Wood Craft is dedicated to keeping alive the skills and techniques of wooden boat building on the Fermanagh Lakelands and beyond. I can do this by building new boats for new customers, recreating boats of old design for enthusiasts and breathing new life into tired old girls for the hopelessly romantic.
Why wood?
I believe using wood as a boat building material is the least worst option in terms of cost to the environment due to extraction, processing and ultimate disposal.
As a builder, wood allows me the flexibility to offer folks something that meets their needs more closely and not be limited to churning out tubs from the same mould.
As a user of boats wood exudes that timeless aesthetic appeal – warm rich tones easy to look at and sensual to touch.
